Homestay Kampung Morten UNESCO Melaka, located in the heart of Melaka City, is the only Malay village in Melaka. This accommodation is considered as a life museum as many people are still practicing a way of life that has not changed and the uniqueness of their home design designs. This village is named in conjunction with the name JF Morten, Land commissioner when the commission was established in the early 1920s. Kampung Alai Homestay
Kampung Alai is a traditional Malay village located about 8 kilometres south of Melaka town centre. ‘Alai’ is the name of a tree, which was how the village got its name. This village of modest size boasts a population of approximately two thousand, in 500 houses. Some of these houses are enrolled in the Kampung Alai Homestay Programme.
Although Kampung Alai is well known for its ‘kompang’ group, a traditional Malay music troupe, the village’s Seri Warisan Baru Alai Dondang Sayang group led by Tuan Hj. Mohd. Isa, which was established in 2011, is slowly gaining popularity.
Kampung Pulai
Kampung Pulai is located about 16.5 km to the south of Melaka Town and 7.8 km from Merlimau Town. The village was open by Daeng Taib, a Bugis about 150 years ago. He and his family live in the area called Pantai Gupung or Pulai Timur.
Come to Kampung Pulai and explore the Melakan Bugis Culture. You'll love the attractions, friendly people and delicious Malay traditional foods especially asam pedas and dodol. The homestay program is open for domestic and international tourists. In order to join the homestay program, you need to stay and overnight at Kampung Pulai at least one night. All homestay participant will stay with their adoptive parents and could use all facilities that provided. Breakfast, hi-tea, lunch and dinner will be provided.
